This policy describes the current release. It must be reviewed by the operator and, where appropriate, a lawyer before public launch.

Summary

  • You do not need an account. If you choose to email us, we receive your email address and anything you include in your message.
  • This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and runs no third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
  • Your likes, saved playlists, Watch later list, history and settings stay in your own browser.
  • YouTube’s player loads only when you press Play. Once it loads, YouTube and Google process data under their own policies.

Data stored in your browser

Likes, dislikes, saved playlists, Watch later, history and display settings are stored in your browser’s local storage. They are not sent to or stored on our server. You can export, import or delete them at any time on Your data. When you view one of those lists, your browser requests the public catalog details for the saved entries; we do not store those requests.

The YouTube player

Recording pages first show a still image (the video thumbnail, loaded directly from YouTube’s image servers) and a Play button. The YouTube player is loaded only after you press Play, using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed domain (youtube-nocookie.com). When the player loads or plays, YouTube and Google may collect information such as your IP address, device details and viewing activity, and may set cookies or similar technologies. That processing is governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. You can turn off thumbnails in Settings to avoid loading images from YouTube while browsing.

YouTube API data

This site uses the YouTube API Services to check that catalogued videos are still available and embeddable, and to display a small amount of public video information (title on YouTube, channel name, duration, upload date and thumbnail). This information is about public videos, not about you. It is stored for no longer than 30 days and then refreshed or deleted. This site does not ask you to sign in with Google and never accesses your YouTube or Google account. If you have granted any application access to your Google account, you can review or revoke it at Google’s security settings.

Server logs and security

Like any website, our hosting provider processes technical request data (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Our own application logs do not record full IP addresses; where an identifier is needed for rate limiting or security, we store a one-way keyed hash. Operational logs are kept only as long as needed for security and debugging.

Analytics and email

This release has no analytics or newsletter signup. You may choose to email us about the project; we use the details you send to respond to your message. If privacy-minimal, aggregate visitor statistics or an optional newsletter are added later, this policy will be updated first. A newsletter would always be opt-in, confirmed by email (double opt-in), easy to unsubscribe from, and deletable on request.

Site administrators

The only cookie this site sets is a secure session cookie for authorised editors who sign in to the administration area. Visitors never receive it.

Children

This site does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
