Requesting removal or correction
Please include:
- The address of the page on this site (for example, a
/watch/…link). - The material concerned — for example the recording, the composition, an image or a piece of text.
- Who you are and your relationship to the rights in question (owner, agent, estate representative and so on).
- How we can contact you.
- A short explanation of the problem and what you would like us to do.
What happens next
- We assign your report a case reference and acknowledge it, aiming to do so within 5 business days.
- Where provenance is unclear or the risk is significant, we temporarily remove the entry from the catalog while we review.
- We verify the claimant’s authority where we can, and keep only the information needed to handle the case.
- We then correct, replace, restore or permanently remove the entry, and record the outcome. We do not publish claimants’ private information.
Videos hosted on YouTube
Every video on this site is hosted by YouTube and embedded with YouTube’s official player. Removing an entry here does not remove the video from YouTube. To have a video removed from YouTube itself, use YouTube’s copyright removal process. You can do both: ask us to remove the catalog entry and ask YouTube to remove the video.
A public video is not cleared for every use merely because it is public, and this catalog does not own or license the underlying recordings. Credits shown here are attribution, not permission: compositions, lyrics, sound recordings, videos, thumbnails, photographs, translations and logos can each have different owners.
Credits and assets
- Video thumbnails are displayed unmodified, loaded directly from YouTube through its API, and belong to their respective owners.
- The site’s artwork, icons and poster designs are original to this project.
- Typefaces: Fraunces and Inter, both under the SIL Open Font License.
- Editorial summaries are original writing. Quoted publisher claims are attributed to their source.
